On October 18, "Yang Di: Drifting Memorial", part of "The Productivity of Space" series hosted by Suzhou Museum of Contemporary Art, opened to the public. Yang Di, an artist raised in Suzhou, revisits his past through the lens of this project, reflecting on bygone eras and observing present-day life. He has created "Drifting Memorial," a cross-temporal narrative work combining video and interactive gaming installations, presenting an image of Suzhou spanning three decades.

A vital role of film creation today is to offer a buffer zone—a space where we regain the opportunity to reexamine our lives. Starting from "Yang Di: Drifting Memorial," we have invited two Jiangnan-based young directors, Zhu Xin and Xu Tianlin, to join Yang Di for a film screening and creation-sharing session. Centered on the mist-laden tales of Jiangnan, they will discuss how to mine characters and objects from daily life for filmmaking, as well as the creative sparks and emotional ties rooted in hometown memories. Through water-rich stories of the region, they explore how daily life sparks cinematic subjects, and how memories of hometown shape artistic vision.
