"Hu Jiayi: Facade" is the first project under "The Productivity of Space" initiative, which employs behavioral expression as its core medium. Organized by Suzhou Museum of Contemporary Art, artist Hu Jiayi draws from her artistic practice to invite public participation through performance art workshops and courses, collectively exploring the subtle yet profound connections between the body and space.
As one of China's most prominent representative performance artists, Hu Jiayi has long been dedicated to exploring and reflecting deeply on issues related to the body. In this project, she envisions architectural interiors as dynamic spaces that are continually "rewritten" through various methods, each containing a series of latent events waiting to be activated. By skillfully folding and unfolding, organizing and disrupting the boundaries of spaces, objects, and bodies, the project seeks to decode, reconstruct, and enrich our understanding of spatial and temporal dimensions in meaningful ways.
