The "U Kim: U Florist" was initiated by the Sino-Korean artist collective known as "U Kim" (comprised of Zhang Youkui & Jin Shanzhen), which extended invitations to fellow artists, academic contingents from universities in China, South Korea, and the United States, as well as local residents and volunteers in Suzhou, to collaboratively bring this project to fruition. It almost has all the quintessential features one would expect of a typical "U Florist", yet it distinguishes itself by utilizing recycled waste materials donated by the community as its foundational components. Synergistic artistic endeavors materialize through diverse practices and mediums, particularly in the recycling of leftovers and the extension and expansion of waste materials. Starting on July 15th, the "U Kim", alongside visiting artists and volunteers, initiated the construction of the "flower house". Artists and all participants have complete equality in their creations, without interfering with each other's creations, in order to allow as many people as possible to unleash their imagination of "flowers" and meet art in this "U Florist".
